What is Our UK Horse Racing Dataset API?

Our UK Dataset API gives developers, analysts and businesses direct access to a deep, structured and continuously updated database of UK & Irish horse racing. Races, runners, results, racecards, horses, jockeys, trainers, courses and sectional times, all served as clean JSON over a documented REST API, ready to plug into your application, model or internal system.

Dataset at a glance (UK & IRE)

• ~196,000 races covering 2011 → today
• ~1.85 million runner records (one row per horse per race)

• JWT authentication: exchange your API key for a bearer token via POST /auth/token, refresh with POST /auth/refresh.

Monthly or annual?

• Monthly renews your call allowance every billing cycle, best for steady, ongoing consumption.
• Annual gives you 12× the monthly allowance available from day one, so you can front-load a large historical backfill in the first weeks and then coast on daily updates. It also saves up to ~20% versus paying monthly (roughly two months free).

How usage works

• Every successful API request counts as 1 call against your allowance.
• List endpoints are paginated up to 50 records per page, so you control exactly how much you pull per call.
• Requests outside your plan’s historical window are rejected. Upgrade the tier or use Full Historical Unlock for deeper history.
• Exceeding your per-second throughput returns HTTP 429; simply pace or retry.
• Your live counters are always visible via GET /user/usage and in your account dashboard.
